After four years on Facebook I registered for account deletion on 6th February - we'll do it in 14 days says the message - note the date above. Don't want to let you go do they ?
A lot of people love it - my kids certainly do - and some caricaturists claim they get work from it and use it to keep in touch with their customers. I'll miss checking out Caricaturama 3000 - someone please put it on a Blog. Most of the time though it seemed like being on a long haul flight full of small kids.

Lol know what your saying about facebook - I seem to have fallen for twitter at the moment but I am sure that could change too - There are a lot of interesting pics and web links that come up from the people I follow !
Cheers Tony - don't think I'll be Twittering either.
I had $1500 fraudulent transaction, in Germany of all places, on my AMEX card. I don't know if FB had anything to do with it, but the bank ( who fixed it all up), said one of the biggest sources for identity fraud is good old FB.
That seemed opportune to me .............
Great ! I don't like competition and contests beetween colleagues, it's a very strange idea, isn't it ?
I'm tempted me to follow your example Terry. I don't think I've gotten any business from FB and I know I spend too much time glancing down the updates on my severely reduced "home" screen, reading inane little postings from the 20 people left on my "friend" list. Much less than when there were 200+ "friends" posting inane little bits, but still, too much time. And having been the victim of identity theft twice already BEFORE the internet became the way to lose one's identity I certainly don't want to go through THAT again!
Thanks for being an example, whether I follow it or not, thanks. And thanks for adding a link to my blog on your caricaturist blog roll. I'm thinking about going to Florida for the convention in November, any chance you'll be there?
Hi Bodard - I don't enter the competitions but I did enjoy looking. The whole FB thing though is a bit 'Look at me !'
Glad you dropped in Paul - yep I think that was one of the problems the vast amount of absolute dross and inane dribble that a lot of people 'have to' print. My fault I guess 'friending' too many - I was amazed at the rubbish people put up as 'news' about their lives. Give it a rest !!
Anyway been off it for about 4 months and it's a diversion I haven't missed ... I can only imagine Twitter being even worse.
Won't be in Florida Paul - budget won't stretch that far - off to the UK in August to see the folks - maybe next year.
I know another organization who spit his members out. They don't respect the first rule of democratic ( where we all fighting for),The freedom of expression. This are dictators where members paying for.A shame !!!!
jan :)
Woh - you lost me there Jan ............ :0)
Hey Tel, Can't blame you for pulling out of FB. I think it's a BIG TIME SUCKER. There is a lot of useless information that people write about daily. However, I have to say, there some great artists that compete in Caricaturama Showdown, alot of talent there, it's worth looking at. Well, I'm glad you still have your blog! Cheers!!
I've just started using it tel , mainly because I thoughtt I was missing out on something and it was the right thing to do .
How wrong I was , I realise I am missing nowt , just a lot of folk making inane comments like " going out tonight " and even sadder people " liking" this comment .
As you say " caricaturama 3000 " keeps me there .
" get a life " I say ," I would if I knew how to download one " came the answer . !
Fuck em !
Hey Rick glad you dropped in mate.
hahahah Flats - my sentiments entirely 'Fuck em' - it's all a bit 'emporers new clothes' no one's game to say this is crap !!
Tel, I'm so tempted to follow suit but something (haven't figured out what exactly) is holding me back. What I definitely DON'T like is although you leave Facebook, you haven't really left. I wouldn't be happy unless I knew that all ties between me and Mark Zuckerberg's minions were well and truly severed.
Well it's the 25th of March and a Google search found only two Terry Dunnett's on Facebook and neither are me so it appears I'm free of Zuckerberg's tentacles - at the visible level anyway.
Good riddance !!
