That's a big 'un !

A recent commission for a fisherman's 50th birthday - the fish is a Spanish Mackerel which are caught along the Indian Ocean coast North of Perth. Great fighters and BIG !

If all that sounds like I'm an avid fishing fan you couldn't be more wrong - I catch mine with $2.00 worth of chips and a crab stick.

'Voluptuous' 50th commission ....

Now I know I said I wasn't going to bore you with commissions but I'm not getting a chance to do much else of late so here's a fiftieth birthday that's just gone out the door.

Mr & Mrs Fifty !

I had a little lull after Christmas - I thought 'uh-ho' here comes the recession but the old order book has filled up again and I won't need to get the begging bowl out until at least the end of April !!

I hope the class of 1959'ers prove as lucrative as the 58'ers when it comes to their 50th Birthdays. Here's the first two, a couple who share their 50th's in the same week - fishing and basketball fans.

Exactly how many people were born in 1958 ? It has been nothing but 50th Birthdays this year, I'm worried there will be a downturn for next year ....... an Elvis loving Footy fan.

Golfers 50th

I've had some fun now back to my 'bread & butter' work - a caricature of a golfer paid for by friends for his 50th birthday. These are popular and look great framed up behind the bar.

1958 must have been a real belter in the maternity hospitals - I've had a string of 50th birthday caricatures - this one, a Mart Feldman lookalike, didn't actually need a lot of caricaturing. The client said this will be an easy one for you he's a natural caricature !

50 - the big five zero - that time in life where you've got most of the stuff you want and caricatures make great presents - for the man ( or woman) who has everything ! (... and a lot more memorable than ties and socks ..... or a health club membership - yeh right, what are they telling you !)

A fisherman bought by his wife and an Eagles fan, bought by his mates, who really wanted 'the business' on him. Love those !
