The iPad cometh .......

Now anyone that knows me knows I'm a total devotee of Apple - a 'Machead' if you like - if you're going to spend all day working on a computer it might as well be a bloody good 'un !
The release of the iPad had me perplexed - I couldn't think of a reason to get one. I've got the big MacPro in the studio and a 13" MacBookPro for 'out and about'. I hide my Samsung mobile phone - let the side down there !
I've now found out now that the Sketchbook Pro iPhone App works on the iPad and ISCA compatriot Angie Jordan has been caricaturing on it on release day in the USA.
Very interesting check it out on her Blog HERE.
Release date for Australia is the end of the month.

Here's a caricature I did of Angie about 18 months ago .............

Well it's almost Christmas ...........

I've had a good couple of months and decided to replace the old G4 Powerbook. It's still going strong after six years of being carted around the world being dropped, scratched and generally abused. These days Photoshop makes it squint a bit so I've bought a 13" MacBook Pro - nice bit of kit I must say !
With a trip to Europe next year and a couple of illustrative non caricature jobs that require me to display to groups on an overhead projector ( more on that in a later post ) it's the ideal foil for the MacPro I run in the studio.
It's also just so pretty !!!!!

Mr Obama ...

I'm not a great follower of US politics, it always seems very big on 'razzamattaz' and low on substance. I've never figured out what all the bunting, flags, balloons, money and rhetoric has got to do with electing the right man. The process seems far too 'Hollywood' to seriously produce a person who has such a big impact on the rest of the world.
Democracy at work eh ?
Having said all that the new President does seem to tick most of the boxes, though I think we can probably reserve judgement until this time in 2011 - he's got a lot to do.
He has two big pluses with me - he's a Macintosh fan and also a left hander, in fact, of the last five presidents only George W Bush is a right hander.
I've always found left handed Mac users such really nice people !!

iPhone hunger ......

It comes out in the USA on Friday - possibly into Australia mid to late 2008.
Will my old Nokia brick and series 1 iPod keep going until then .... will dear old Telstra carry it (do they know it exists !) Have they a FUD campaign in readiness ?
I want one NOW .....................
