Steve Ballmer uses .......

This made me smile, it may have been Photoshopped,  though there are other photos from the same meeting that seem to confirm its credibility. Let's face it if you're going to do a good presentation you would have to use Apple Keynote not Powerpoint.
There is of course the remote possibility that the Mac is running Vista .......

Golfers 50th

I've had some fun now back to my 'bread & butter' work - a caricature of a golfer paid for by friends for his 50th birthday. These are popular and look great framed up behind the bar.

Torkan's Dad

Roger Fletcher is the creator of the syndicated cartoon series Torkan, a fellow member of the Australian Cartoonist's association and above all a bloody nice bloke. Promised to do one for him long ago - can't remember why now !

'Beast'

Another 'warm up', Bob East - known as 'Beast' a caricature artist from the US of A.

Coogy !!

Irish caricaturist Ken Coogan is my latest victim - gee 'I'm in the zone' at the moment.
Next on the list is my mate Roger Fletcher the artist behind Torkan every week in the Sunday Times here in Perth.

Bob & Doogle

Just having a bit of a 'workout' on a couple of faces of fellow NCN members Bob Bischoff and Doogle. Both from the US of A - Doogle's the one without the beard !

I love happy customers ...

I got this photo emailed to me within two hours of the client picking up the caricature - as you can see the victim was happy -and I'm more than satisfied with the likeness.

More commissions

Here's a few jobs from last week - there's a lot of 'in jokes' in the wedding caricature, a 4oth Birthday caricature for a Texan living in West Australia and a 60th Birthday for a rugby loving Kiwi. Time for some golf before this beautiful autumn weather goes ........

Mike Carlon

Far too much idle time on my hands ( not really) - I've been meaning to do a caricature of Mike Carlon - fellow caricaturist and NCN member - from 'Oop North' in England.

Mattski of Dubai

These are really fun to do - as I've said before clients rarely give you open slather to this to a face - other caricaturists enjoy it. This is Matt Ryder who has a caricature business in exotic Dubai. Cheers Matt.

March commissions....

March seems to consist of pretty young things to caricature - lovely to look at - but nowhere near the fun of getting stuck into a gnarled older male for a 'send off'. Just got a couple of those - go for it they said !!

Farewell Rumpole style ...

The client wanted a farewell for a lawyer, heading East, to depict him in the classic Rumpole pose - with a squash racket, X-Box and a picture of Borat in his 'mankini'  on the wall.
Mission accomplished !!

Happy Birthday with ............ transvestites !!!

A Perth woman celebrating her 40th at a Disco Fever party with two transvestites - one who had to have been a Rugby League player !!! The photos supplied by the client were really blurry but he reckons I made such a good job of the ' Trannies ' he has real concerns for me !!!!! - he's not the first to say that ....... :0)  ( these heels are a killer BTW !)

Police Sketch Artist

I come from a background of a Police Artist who now does caricatures - the reverse also works well. Made me smile - and is the basis of lots of Police Artist jokes.
Enjoy
ps .... found it on Tom Richmonds Blog

Geronimo !!!!!

Two weeks since I've posted anything, had a little break and managed to have some fun with 'Geronimo' AKA Gerald Koller, fellow caricaturist and member of the Austrian Police and an aspiring Police Artist no less.
It's the sort of fun not many clients allow you to do with their loved one's faces.
Thanks Geronimo - enjoyed myself !!

Another Birthday

Now I'm not sure what Birthday milestone this one was - I think a 60th - commissioned by the Son and Daughter who are both depicted standing behind Dad. Lovely clients to deal with and they were so happy with the final. I hope Dad loves it.

The Wedding Chauffeur

A caricature presented to the Chauffeur from a bridal couple who left the ceremony in a 1966 bright red Ford Mustang. Yep your right the car was the hard part - hate drawing Fords :0) !

Everyone is 50 in 2008 !

1958 must have been a real belter in the maternity hospitals - I've had a string of 50th birthday caricatures - this one, a Mart Feldman lookalike, didn't actually need a lot of caricaturing. The client said this will be an easy one for you he's a natural caricature !

yet another Wedding ....

The Groom and his four Groomsman for an upcoming wedding.
Always getting five into a collage without it looking too 'stiff' or too cluttered is a problem.
Not sure if this worked or not.

Now that's a smile

And here's the final finished - with - pet dog and the bridge as well.

Half way through a wedding commission for a Sydney couple. The bride has such a great smile I couldn't help popping it on the blog. I'll post the full collage later when I've finished it.
