More weddings ......

Just finished this one - with all the cropped / no background extras for wedding paraphernalia.
They loved it - I most admit wedding caricatures are heading for 50% of the business these days.
You've gotta luv 'em !!!

The final collage is a compilation of all the 'bits' on individual layers. For a wedding commission I supply, in addition to the main 'final' (either framed or made into an A2 guest signing board ), an image of the couple with no background for invites, thankyou notes and table signs. Two 'Facebook' avatars and often the artwork, with titling, for stubbie holders and what's been popular a sepia tone version for wine labels.
In this instance I also get a '59 Cadillac convertible for my clip art library !
( ... do that in acrylic .... :0) !!)

Wedding dirt bikers .....

You've got to love wedding commissions lovely steady work and always a bit of a challenge.
Couple from NSW who wanted themselves posed on the groom's Yamaha.
I've just kicked off a couple of celebrity caricatures, I don't know how all the other guys have time to do those, I'm not going to sacrifice golf time for 'freebies' !!

The recession's coming ........

The signs of recession are around but I'm still of the opinion that it's a bit media driven - bad news makes great reading/viewing ! Late April looks a bit slow but at the moment the desktop is full of part finished commissions.
Above are a few recent completed jobs, weddings, birthdays and send off's.
Good steady work - get your April orders in now !!!

I've got a series of weddings in the 'mill' these are some of the completed faces. As someone on a forum said to me ' they're not very exaggerated' - true. When it comes to 90% of the jobs the clients don't want big stretchy jobs, particularly for weddings.
One of the four above I got the 'go for it' instruction - you'll pick the one !!

Wedding Bells ....

One of the most significant days of your life is when your eldest gets married. On Friday our son Michael married his long, long time partner Donna. She's gorgeous, with a personality to match, Nola and I are so proud to have her as our Daughter in Law. He's not a bad lad either. They make a stunning couple.
A fabulous day was had by all the family and friends, over 100, at the marriage at Cottesloe Civic Centre and the reception in the Indiana Tea Rooms, which are a classic location above the Cottesloe Surf Club right on the beach.
We partied long into the warm night overlooking the Indian Ocean.
A magic day - I've got the headache to prove it.
Back to caricatures today ............. sigh !

Wedding Bells .... .. again !!

These are a couple of my favourite people - currently living in England but coming back to Perth to get married in November. This graphic is for the invites and a framed A3 original for the house. It's my wedding present to them ... a rare freebie !!!!

More Weddings .....

Here's a couple more wedding commissions that I've just completed both are A2 size - for our North American friends that's 16.5" x 24" ( I grew up with that system it seems so archaic now ... when are you going to change ? ). Weddings really push through a lovely steady stream of work and there are four more in transit through the 'workshop' at the moment.

Hey I know you've seen this pose and theme before - but - it's popular and clients love it right down to the footy sock down the front of the lycra suit !!!  A lovely couple that have married as they both head into retirement.

More commissions

Here's a few jobs from last week - there's a lot of 'in jokes' in the wedding caricature, a 4oth Birthday caricature for a Texan living in West Australia and a 60th Birthday for a rugby loving Kiwi. Time for some golf before this beautiful autumn weather goes ........

March commissions....

March seems to consist of pretty young things to caricature - lovely to look at - but nowhere near the fun of getting stuck into a gnarled older male for a 'send off'. Just got a couple of those - go for it they said !!

The Wedding Chauffeur

A caricature presented to the Chauffeur from a bridal couple who left the ceremony in a 1966 bright red Ford Mustang. Yep your right the car was the hard part - hate drawing Fords :0) !

yet another Wedding ....

The Groom and his four Groomsman for an upcoming wedding.
Always getting five into a collage without it looking too 'stiff' or too cluttered is a problem.
Not sure if this worked or not.

Now that's a smile

And here's the final finished - with - pet dog and the bridge as well.

Half way through a wedding commission for a Sydney couple. The bride has such a great smile I couldn't help popping it on the blog. I'll post the full collage later when I've finished it.

..another wedding commission

Just completed a groom and groomsmen collage for an upcoming wedding. Theme was 'the Ratpack' ....... Photoshop CS3 Beta. All done in separate layers - I noted the file size grew to 886 Megabyte - just as well it wasn't on the old laptop ;D Just love that MacPro ............ swweeeet !!
